Our Expert Guide to creating Scroll Stopping Content   A content shoot is more than just turning up, taking photos and hoping for the best. When done well, it becomes a powerful business asset, giving you months of scroll-stopping, on-brand content that attracts the right clients and elevates your visibility. We want every business that works here to come away with content they LOVE and can reuse time and time again, so we asked Jo Bolton, from Flourish Social Hub to talk us through how to plan a shoot.   Jo has supported many businesses during content days and workshops here at The Grange, helping them turn a beautiful setting into content that actually works for their business, so get your pen and paper ready!  Here are my top five ways to get the most out of the Content Days at The Grange   1. Plan your content before you arrive This is the single biggest difference between a good shoot and a high-performing content day. Before you step foot in the space, you should know: What platforms you’re creating for (Instagram, website, email, LinkedIn) What type of content you need (Reels, carousels, stories) What you want your audience to feel, think or do when they see it  A simple content plan ensures you’re using your time efficiently and with intention. When you arrive with a plan, you waste less time deciding what to film, create far more usable content, and leave feeling confident rather than overwhelmed. Your plan can be as simple as: What’s the topic? Where in the venue will I shoot it? What props or outfits do I need? Does it align with my content pillars? Scripts for ‘talking to camera’ reels That small amount of preparation makes a huge difference.  2. Get to know the space before you shoot The venue is not just a backdrop it’s part of your brand story. Before your shoot: Look at photos of the rooms Think about which spaces match different parts of your brand  When you understand the flow of the space, you can use it intentionally, capturing different moods and looks without needing a full reset. The Grange is particularly powerful for this because every room offers a different atmosphere, allowing you to create varied, high-end content in one location. It’s also why it helps to work with photographers and content creators who already know the space, they’ll understand exactly how to use it to your advantage.  3. Bring more than you think you need My tip is to bring extra of the following - Multiple outfits (even small changes like jackets, shoes or jewellery) Branded items (laptop, notebooks, packaging, products, coffee cups) Props that tell your story (diaries, flowers, tools, books, client gifts)  These details help your content feel real and authentic, rather than flat or staged. At a venue like The Grange, the styling possibilities are endless, so the more variety you bring, the more it will look like your content was created across multiple shoots rather than just one.  4. Capture movement, not just photos Photos are powerful — but movement stops the scroll. Instead of just sitting at a desk, try: Walking into the room Pouring a coffee Opening your laptop Turning to camera  This way, your photos also become Reels and video clips. It’s excellent B-Roll! Even 5–10 seconds of movement can turn one setup into dozens of pieces of content, giving you far more value from your shoot.  5. Use the day as a strategy, not just a shoot The most successful content days are the ones where people don’t just think about what looks good, they think about what supports their business. Your content should help: Sell your services Build trust Share your personality Position you as an expert   Content can be so much more than just a post on social media or a picture on your website. When you think about how it’s going to increase your visibility and support your business goals, you’ll always get better results.  If you’re ready to elevate your content, I highly recommend The Grange as the perfect location. Their Content Day sessions are a brilliant way to share the space with other businesses, or alternatively, if you hire the house for the day you can pretty much get your content sorted for the next year!  Jo's website is here if you want to find out more.  Drop us a message if you'd like to find out more about hiring our space, we'd love to have you.
